First Far East Team Carp Fishing competition was held in Primorsky region. Ten teams gathered on Kononekovsky pond to participate in competition, five teams from each region. This year competitors from Khabarovsk territory joined fishermen from Primorsky region.  

About two years ago fishermen from Khabarovsk territory and Primorsky region got an idea to arrange on-site competition. They overcame all difficulties and arranged First Far East Team Carp Fishing competition in Primorsky region. 30th of June became an official “birthday” for this competition.

Carp fishing is not the same as ordinary fishing. The main rule of carp fishing is "Catch & Release" principle.

Previously competition participants from Khabarovsk territory and Primorsky region have been communicating only via internet and now they got a chance to meet at Kononekovsky pond in order to find out which team is the best in fishing.

Competition lasted during four days, it was not possible to define leaders during first two days. Competitors went stride for stride with each other, so leaders were defined only in the end of competition on the fourth day. There were two nominations in this year Far East Team Carp Fishing competition. First one is “Big Fish”, it was received by “Kharparovsk” team from Khabarovsk territory. And the main one, for the biggest harvest, was given to the team from Primorsky region.

But for participants, winning was not the most important thing, the important thing was to meet each other and have a great time among friends while fishing.

This year competition just ended up and initiators already plan to hold Second Far East Team Carp Fishing competition in Khabarovsk territory next year.
