The 14th "Pacific Meridian" Film Festival will be held in Vladivostok from 10th till 16th of September. More than a thousand of films from 88 countries competed in order to participate in this festival. The largest quantity of  participation applications were sent from Russia, Canada, France, USA, Mexico, Korea, Portugal, Germany, Japan, China and Italy. However, residents and guests of Vladivostok will be able to see only about 150 films from 30-32 countries that have passed a rigorous selection.

Within the framework of “The Year of Russian Cinema” several programs will be devoted to domestic films: traditional "Russian Cinema" program, a retrospective movies of classics Mikhail Romm and Grigori Chuhrai, and also a new program about neglected domestic films of the late 80's - early 90-ies. 

This year Russian movie producer, actor, screenwriter, People's Artist of Russia -- Vladimir Hotinenko - will chair the panel of judges at the "Pacific Meridian" Asia-Pacific countries International Film Festival. Such well-known actors and actresses as Al Pacino, Til Schweiger, Jacqueline Bisset, Juliette Binoche, Joel Chapron can become guests of this festival. At the moment, they have received the invitation and their visits are under discussion.

"Pacific Meridian" is a competition of feature-length and short films, debutants and already well-known filmmakers can participate in this competition. Festival discovers new talents, helps to create original projects and presents unforgettable encounters.
